Digital marketing agency Metia has launched an interactive Royal Wedding timeline on MSN’s official Royal wedding portal, a move designed to transform the occasion from a passive TV experience to a personalised social media one.

Combining news headlines and musical hits which dovetailed with key dates during William and Kate’s lives the site will stream live BBC coverage of the event whilst affording opportunity for people to engage in conversation via social media tools.

Music previews are being provided courtesy of HMV with a direct link allowing viewers to purchase favourite tracks.

Matthew Ball, MSN’s UK editor, said: “We wanted to help recreate that sense of inclusion and occasion by making it easy to find out what else was happening when William and Kate got engaged, for example, or what the top five hits were when William was born.”
