London based Colman Getty has usurped its Birmingham based competitors to land a £292k marketing contract for the city’s under construction library over the next three years.

Getty picked up the contract from S&X Media, incumbents in the library promotion role, who had held the contract since 2009.

They will be tasked with drawing up a “high impact regional, national and international campaign” for the cultural landmark as its 2013 opening date draws nearer.

Brian Gambles, Birmingham City Council’s assistant director of culture, said of S&X Media: “They set the bar very high and ultimately it was a very close decision as to who would be awarded the new contract”
