Bristol-based field marketing agency exPD8 has appointed outgoing SPAR MD Jerry Marwood as non-executive director, with effect from April.

Marwood, a board member and one time chairman of the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) who sits on the board of the British Retail Consortium (BRC), is to advise the agency on promotional compliance in convenience stores.

He is set to step down as MD of SPAR in September after nine years in charge, with former Co-op marketing chief Debbie Robinson named as his successor.

Agency co-founder Mark Thurgood said of the appointment: “We have been very successful in growing our business in non-food categories, and Jerry’s appointment will underpin our expansion into grocery particularly within the convenience sector.”
