Financial communications firm Broadgate Mainland has opened a Scottish office that will be headed up by the former group communications director for Scottish Equitable and Standard Life.

Scott White will oversee the running of the office in Edinburgh, joining from Black to White PR, which he launched in 2009, taking with him existing clients such as wealth management firm Fiscal Engineers and the Irish Fund investment Association.

White has also had spells heading up the external communication functions for Aegon UK and Standard Life, and now aims to recruit a team for the agency.

Roland Cross, director of Broadgate Mainland, commented: “The company has long held a belief that the Scottish market offers attractive new business opportunities and we feel that now is the right time to exploit that potential. We have a long association with Scottish companies and in Scott White we now have an individual with the experience and expertise to help us grow our presence and build on our strong client base.”

Walkers Shorbread Limited chairman is also chairman of Broadgate Mainland, Longbow Growth, Scottish Friendly Assurance Society and Income VCT.
