Bristol-based PR and parliamentary affairs consultancy JBP Associates, has announced the appointment of Robert Weston as strategic director of corporate responsibility communications.

Weston is a leading expert in corporate social responsibility and a successful social entrepreneur, having set up CSR consultancy Groundswell, founded the UK Farmers’ Market Movement and established the first eco-hotel in Bath.

“Rob’s unparalleled track record in corporate responsibility is an ideal strategic fit with our corporate communications and stakeholder engagement services,” said Chris Lawrance, director, JBP.

“Corporate responsibility is high on the boardroom agenda and communicating it effectively to stakeholders is increasingly critical to business success.”

Weston was among the first to complete the pioneering MSc Responsibility & Business Practice programme at the University of Bath (now the Ashridge Masters in Sustainability and Responsibility) and is a guest lecturer in ethical enterprise at the University of Bath’s School of Management.

So many organisations are just scratching the surface in this area when it can have such a positive impact on brand asset and investor value.”
