Frozen yoghurt brand yoomoo has opened its first self-service branch, designed by Sheridan&Co. The yoghurt bar opens in Canada Square, Canary Wharf this week.

Yoomoo’s self-service concept - create, weigh and pay - is a UK first for the frozen yoghurt sector. Customers can create their own yoomoo, choosing from six flavours and lots of delicious toppings. At the end of the counter it is weighed and paid for.

Leicestershire-based Sheridan&Co created the design concept for yoomoo’s retail rollout last autumn. The Canary Wharf café is the sixth site to open with Sheridan&Co’s design. The concept, called ‘farmyard chic’, is a take on a traditional farmyard scene with white picket fences, sleek slatted barn walls and yoomoo’s funky cow graphics.

Designer Alex Stothard has adapted the concept to work in the self-service environment. A display counter made from back painted glass in bright plum runs almost the full length of the open fronted unit. Customers can take-away their bespoke yoomoo or perch on high stools at a freestanding counter to eat.

Amanda Gestetner, marketing director at yoomoo said: “I am really excited about launching the UK’s first self-serve frozen yogurt bar. It adds more fun and theatre to the yoomoo experience and Canary Wharf is the ideal location to introduce this concept."
