Digital training and research company The White Room has unveiled a new scheme for budding social media strategists.

Influence which will run between 22-23 March is the brainchild of digital training, development and research company, The White Room.

They are partnered by social media consultancy, Real Fresh TV and PR agency MC2. Representatives from Smoking Gun PR and Juice Digital will also be on hand to deliver industry-standard training.

The scheme has been launched in response to industry demand for marketers skilled in growing online influence through social media strategies.

Delegates will also able to respond to a live industry brief provided by a company looking to employ a fully trained social media manager from the course intake.

Andy Lovatt, MD at The White Room said: “In Influence, we want to create something that will develop the skills of marketers at all levels, both agency and client-side. Manchester, with its buoyant digital economy, was a clear choice as the launching pad for the programme, which we will be taking nationwide over the coming weeks and months.”

Claire Tennant, managing director of MC2, said: “Initiatives like Influence will be instrumental in driving innovation backed by smart strategic thinking. Manchester already has real strength within its marketing community, and developing the skills of our future social media experts will cement the city’s ongoing status as a digital powerhouse.”
