Edinburgh-based design business Hillside Agency has designing a map of Edinburgh's extensive network of cycleways - the Innertube Map - for The Bike Station in Edinburgh.

The new map details 100km of Edinburgh's principal off-street traffic free routes and is designed in the style of the internationally recognised and easily navigated London Underground map.

Hillside works heavily with the bike industry, with a variety of cycle-related clients in their portfolio, including the Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup, the Hub at Glentress, Scottish Cycling, Spokes, Cycling Scotland and the TweedLove Bike Festival.

Neil Dalgleish of the Hillside agency said: "The Innertube map has been a brilliant project to work on. Not only has it been a fantastic opportunity to produce a fine piece of graphic work, it's also great to work on an environmentally sound project. Best of all, I think the map highlights another huge asset the City of Edinburgh has to offer its residents and year round visitors. What other city has such a vast network of safe, off road paths that can be accessed easily by cyclists, runners and walkers with the use of the new Innertube Map?"

Hillside is now working with web developers to bring the new map to life with an online version, creating an interactive map and cycle route community.
