Adrenaline Bikes, a new bike shop in Glasgow, is to launch an ad campaign next week created by The Bridge.

After hearing some of The Bridge's ads on Rock Radio, Adrenaline Bikes approached the agency with a two-fold brief.

Firstly, the bike shop required ads to position Adrenaline Bikes as the home of hard core mountain biking in Glasgow with a core audience of 20- and 30-something males already interested in mountain biking but who feel existing generalist retailers don’t really cater for people like them.

Secondly, ads were also required to appeal to women who go to the gym on a regular basis but find it all a bit repetitive and who could enjoy just as much physical benefit by jumping on a bike and going for a cycle.

Two sets of ads were produced, with one route set to appear in female changing rooms at health clubs, and the other route, which references the Old Firm in order to highlight the risks taken by biking enthusiasts, set to appear in male changing rooms and in the gents at a range of pubs, clubs, etc.

Bruce Cameron, director of Adrenaline Bikes, said of the campaign: “We were over the moon when The Bridge took the briefs on. The guys at Rock Radio had told us how great they were to work with and we’re delighted with the ads that resulted. Adrenaline Bikes isn’t just another bike shop and it was important the ads reflected that. We posted them on our Facebook page only last week and already we’ve been getting great feedback not just from the mountain biking community in Glasgow but also from people as far away as New Zealand and California. The campaigns break next week (w/c 5 March).”
