First formation stage for Creative England is for film strategy

The first stage of formation from Creative England, the new body which will aim to support growth across the creative industries of England, has begun.

The first stage will include outlining proposed strategic priorities for film, with a consultation process set to be begin which will set out the draft film strategy for the coming year.

Responses are now being accepted for the consultation, which will be follower later in the year by consultation on proposals for creative industries support and comes on the same day that UK film The King’s Speech picked up four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Colin Firth, as well as Best Director for Tom Hooper and Best Original Screenplay for David Seidler.

A Consultation on Strategic Priorities for Film for 2011/12 can be viewed on the Creative England website with responses being accepted now.

Responses will be accepted until 31 March 2011.
