The University of Strathclyde is to mark the 40th anniversary of its marketing department with a homecoming weekend in June for all alumni, students and staff.

Emeritus professor Michael Baker established the department in 1971 and it has long since been recognised as a centre of excellence and leadership in marketing learning and research.

Head of the department professor Kevin Ibeh said: “Strathclyde marketing expertise has been exported all over the world through our pioneering research, high-calibre alumni and our strong links with businesses and organisations. Thousands of graduates from the department are making excellent professional contributions across the globe and making a real impact on the success of their organisations.

“This important milestone gives us an opportunity to welcome graduates and former staff back to the university as we reflect on our rich history and look forward to our future as champions of excellence and innovation.”
