Facebook has redesigned the page layout in an attempt to make them act and resemble user profiles.

In a blog posted last night, the site said that it is adding the improvements in order to allow users to “manage communication, express yourself, and increase engagement.”

A new set of features have been added including allowing the user to navigate and interact with other areas of Facebook from within the user’s page, meaning the fan activity notifications can be sent, the introduction of the ability to ‘like’ and comment on other pages as the user’s page, and also have their own news feed.

Having recently developed a new profile design, pages will now feature photos at the top of each user’s page, and also allow them to highlight other pages they are connected with.

In order to development engagement on each page, Facebook has also introduced new features, such as an ‘Everyone’ filter on the user’s wall, in order to see the most interesting posts first, while a new area has been created for people to find other’s with common interests.

The blog also reveals that more features are being developed for pages, which will roll out over the coming months.
