A campaign from the Scottish Government has begun to run with the aim of encouraging Scots to buy in season produce as part of their weekly shop.

The campaign, by Story, will raise awareness of the benefits of eating ‘in season’ and communicates the better taste, value and more sustainable lifestyle choice of season food.

Golley Slater is handling PR for the campaign, while Whitespace has developed the online advertising.

MediaCom Scotland is the campaign media planner and buyer.

Angela Bathgate, marketing manager from the Scottish Government’s Marketing Unit, commented: “I’m not the worlds best cook, but in working on this campaign I gave some of the recipes a try – they’re quick, easy and tasty but best of all the ingredients are available in your local supermarket.

“We’ve had terrific support from our partners, Morrisons, Asda, Lakeland and Scotland Food and Drink – as a team we’ve tried a new approach to delivering the campaign – and I tried something new when I cooked!”
