Family bakers Warburtons is understood to have begun approaching agencies across the UK to handle its regional PR contracts.

The brand has begun to contact PR agencies in the regions to handle its regional media communications work, and is currently compiling lists of interested parties.

London agency Clarion Communications is not thought to be affected by the review.

Souter PR is understood to be the incumbent in the north west.

Richard Hayes, marketing manager for Warburtons, commented: “We are currently in the process of meeting with a number of relevant parties , who along with the incumbent agencies, will be invited to take part in a pitch process."

He added: “As I'm sure you can appreciate due to the confidential nature of a pitch situation, I'm afraid we can't reveal any further details at the moment but we will look to announce our updated roster once the pitch process is complete.”

The brand has also worked with other regional agencies in the past including Beattie Communications who worked on promoting Warburtons in Scotland and the Vital Agency has experience of media communications for Warburtons across the Midlands and East Anglia.
