The Clatterbridge Cancer Research charity has appointed new PR and marketing agency The Own Consortium following a three-way pitch.

The charity is hoping for a profile boost across the north west as it tries to meet its aim of raising a minimum of £2m a year to fund world-class cancer research in Liverpool.

The Owl Consortium was recently formed by Denise Mullen after she stepped down from the board of Paver Smith, the agency which bought her Manchester consultancy Stripe Communications two years ago.

The agency's brief is to raise Clatterbridge's profile in the region and increase awareness of and participation in its main fundraising events.

Mullen said: “We are pursuing a number of creative concepts with the charity and are committed to helping the very talented and focused team at Clatterbridge Cancer Research achieve the results they, and the region, deserve. I’d urge everyone to check out www.ChickRun.org and get involved."
