Somerset-based PR agency, ADPR, has appointed 32-year-old Peter Ramsay as Development Director with special responsibility for establishing and developing its dedicated digital PR division.

Peter joined ADPR in 2009 from bottled water supplier, Icelandic Water, where he was head of international public relations.

Prior to that he worked in the United States for five years, reaching Account Director level within a large regional PR consultancy specialising in major consumer food and drink brands and gained experience in broadcast and online media early on in his career as an Account Manager with London-based Marketiers4dc.

Since 2009, Peter has successfully developed a strong consumer PR division for ADPR. He identified, early on, the impact that the explosion in digital and social media would have on the PR industry.

He commented: “Online communication channels such as Facebook and Twitter are significantly changing the way that consumers form and share their opinions about brands, whilst subtly influencing their buying decisions. They are also offering companies across the board, whether their audiences are consumers or business people, vast new opportunities to reach wider target groups in a fraction of the time it takes using more traditional communications methods.”

ADPR’s recent digital programmes have included the successful online broadcasting of Beacon South West’s Beacon Summit event. ADPR streamed the event live online to a targeted audience, expanding the reach with video and audio, as well as executing a live Twitter feed to communicate key information and quotes from the guest speakers.
