An unidentified 26 year old freelance designer has called in the police after falling victim to the obsessive attentions of a female stalker.

The designer’s travails began when he met the woman at an exhibition nine months ago, a chance encounter which quickly turned nasty.

What started out as cyberstalking on social media sites has now spilled over into the real world however after the alleged stalker logged onto FourSquare to track her victim in realtime.

The online game gives points to users who update their location but this has been abused by the woman who used the data to intimidate the man in person, recently storming into a coffee shop and declaring “I’m going to destroy you.”

The victim said: “I thought I could handle it by myself and I feel a bit sorry for her, but I might have underestimated the situation. I get work through social networking sites but the hassle got so bad I closed my Twitter and Facebook accounts.”
