Sale's Waterside Arts Centre is to host a panel debate this week intended to "demystify" MediaCityUK and help creative and digital businesses understand how to capitalise on the opportunities it will bring.

Navigating MediaCityUK takes place at 6pm on Thursday and will feature a panel including Peel Media's head of communications, Paul Newman, and Vision+Media's Lynne McCadden.

As the first phase of MediaCityUK prepares to open next year, the panel will discuss the benefits of the BBC's investment in the Salford Quays site and the opportunities it will bring for those working in the north.

Ric Michael of Puma Events, one of the debate's organisers, said: "MediaCityUK is a huge opportunity for the broadcast sector and beyond but working out the best way to approach it can be tricky.

"We're bringing the people who are making the decisions directly to the people who need to understand how they are made."

You can find out more about the event, and how to get tickets, on the Creative Industries Trafford website.
