Sheffield becomes theEword chairman
Technology entrepreneur Chris Sheffield has been announced as the new chairman of Manchester search and online marketing agency theEword.
He will play a "strategic role in theEword's business development plan" and will help to find future growth opportunities, the agency said.
Sheffield spent 11 years as a principle partner at Deloitte, working with clients including British Airways, Morgan Stanley, and British Gas, before starting, managing and investing in a host of new media and gaming companies.
Over the last decade he has founded and sold Eunite and Million-2-1 and has recently invested in Manchester mobile business the App Factory.
"Chris has a long track record of success with companies which specialise in new media and technology," said Al Mackin, managing director at theEword.
Sheffield, who starts immediately, said: "It’s a really exciting time to be joining the company and I’m looking forward to growing with them.”
Sheffield will remain senior vice president of technology, media and telecoms at China Resources and Investment Vehicle.
