Design appointments by NHS National Services Scotland for Taste and Connect
NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) has announced the appointment of Taste Design to design its annual report and that Connect Communications (Scotland) will oversee the delivery of its in-house publication.
Following a two-lot tender process, the NSS Staff magazine Pulse will be produced by Connect Communications, which will handle the design, copywriting/editing, print and fulfillment services of the monthly magazine.
The appointment will include an agency writing supplementing the magazine editor in undertaking interviews and assigning a photography for key articles.
The agency will also provide a PDF edition for online publishing.
Printing of the magazine will be undertaken by a print supplier from the NHS Scotland procurement framework.
Meanwhile, Taste Design will oversee the design, print and fulfillment services for the NSS Annual Report, including printing a covering letter.
Around 5,000 annual reports are estimated to be printed in the first year, reducing by up to 20% over year two and three of the contract.
Taste will arrange collation, packaging and distribution of the report to addresses across the country, as well as designing web pages which will be used on the NSS website to be accessed by external stakeholders and NSS staff.
Again, the printing of the annual report will be undertaken by one of the print suppliers from the NHS Scotland procurement framework.
According to the tender notice, the value of the whole contract is £117,129.48 with the magazine publishing contract worth £67,270.48 while the annual report contract is £49 859, with nine and six companies registering their interests respectively.
The contract values shown for each lot are the combined values for years one and two for each lot, with two one-year contract extensions possible.
