ID creates site to show off Preston's vision
A new website to promote the regeneration plans for Preston has been launched by one of the Lancashire city's own agencies, ID.
The Preston Vision site implores onlookers to invest, visit and even move to the city and aims to get local people discussing its planned transformation over the next decade.
Preston people are urged to contribute videos and photographs which celebrate the area’s beauty, heritage and personality to help raise the city’s profile and help its bid to attract investment.
The site is backed by Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr pages so that Preston residents feel part of the plans and can easily have their say.
Emma Blackman, head of marketing and communications at regeneration firm Preston Vision, said the site would allow Preston to showcase its strengths in sectors including manufacturing, knowledge and design.
“The website is a key part of our strategy to market Preston in a comprehensive and far-reaching way, bringing together the city’s best attributes and proudly showing them off," Blackman said.
"It is fully integrated in terms of social media so that Preston people feel part of it and, most importantly, can contribute towards telling the world what a great place it is to live, work or visit - it’s a celebration of Preston. Feedback from local people about our proposals now and as the projects are rolled out is also crucial."
ID revealed that it had won the website contract in May following an undisclosed pitch.
