A campaign targeting adults in the North East of England highlighting the problems faced by emergency services staff as a result of the sale of cheap alcohol, has been released by alcohol support body Balance.

The campaign, created by Different, aims to promote the introduction of minimum alcohol pricing being introduced, an idea which the Government is currently in consultation around.

Balance is aiming to build a ground swell of opinion and highlight the level of support for the policy to be made law.

The deadline for the consultation period is early September.

The Balance campaign features frontline services staff such as police and nurses and the consequences they face as a result of excessive drinking on a daily basis and will run through posters, experiential street teams around the region, appearing at events and on the street, to encourage support for the policy, while partners including the NHS, LA’s and the police will see the campaign, and an online website has been developed too.
