After a meeting at Channel Five this morning seven senior executives are to leave Channel Five as new owner Richard Desmond begins his quest to shave £20m in costs.

According to media reports five senior staff were informed of the changes this morning at a meeting, which could also result in 80 of the channel's 300 staff losing their jobs.

Of the senior executives it is understood that only sales director Kelly Williams and the managing director of digital channels and acquisitions Jeff Ford will keep their jobs, with Ford taking over as director of programmes from Richard Woolfe who will leave the company.

Also leaving Five are managing director Mark White, director of legal affairs Paul Chinnery, corporate affairs director Sue Robertson, director of strategy Charles Constable and finance director David Hockley.

Five employees will be relocating from Five's Covent Garden office to Northern & Shell's HQ in the city.
