The Drum has learned that Pravda Advertising in Manchester is closing after eight years in business.

It is understood the agency has been placed into voluntary liquidation by its owners Tim Trapp and Simon Sinclair. Suppliers to the agency have been called to a creditors' meeting.

Managing director Trapp told The Drum today: "I can confirm Pravda Advertising has ceased trading."

The agency was formed in 2002 by ex-McCann Erickson creatives Sinclair and Katie Williams, and Phil Howells, who had been at The Hub in London. Howells left in 2008 and is now creative director of The Raft.

Pravda, named after the Russian word for 'truth', started off sharing space with Tucker Clarke Williams before eventually making Dale Street in the Northern Quarter its home.

In its time the ad agency worked with clients including Transform, Optimax, Neilson Holidays, Toby Carvery and Harvester.
