A long-standing Yorkshire accountancy firm has been given a rebrand by Huddersfield agency The Engine Room.

Holmfirth-based accountants Rogers & Co. opened in 1977 but until now its brand has changed little in the years since. Even the name above the door is that of a founding partner who is no longer part of the business.

After a pitch process it briefed The Engine Room to give it a new identity in a bid to stand out from its rivals.

The company has now rebranded as Balance Accountancy and its corporate identity has taken on a more "playful" approach to represent the interests and characters of its team of staff.

"We wanted to illustrate their human touch, and hope this will appeal to companies looking for professional, friendly, partnership-oriented support as they move through their business challenges," said Darren Evans, creative director of The Engine Room.

Balance director Ashley Barrowclough added: "The name of Balance is perfect as it represents so many things from the work life balance we try to help clients achieve, to balancing of their books, to balancing the challenges of stability and growth.

“We have never thought of ourselves as being the stereotypical, grey-suited, number crunching accountants, and we wanted an image that reflected our own individuality. Now we have got a vibrant name and logo, vibrant colours, a superb website and enthused staff, all of which enable us to stand out from the crowd.”
