Chester Barrie, the Savile Row tailoring brand has appointed creative retail marketing agency Live & Breathe as its marketing agency.

Live & Breathe will work with Chester Barrie to create a new brand identity for the tailor in this, its 75th anniversary year. To this end, it has created a glossy brand book for use within the organisation and for key audiences. The agency will also deliver a wide range of services including an in-store communications programme, internal and external marketing collateral with press and outdoor advertising including the forthcoming autumn/winter campaign.

The Leeds and London-based agency’s overall remit is to build awareness for the main Chester Barrie brand, targeted at confident, assured men of 35 and over, as well as its diffusion brand, Chester by Chester Barrie. The latter aims to promote proper business dressing among those men, usually younger middle managers, who are less confident about their style.

Chester Barrie's Savile Row store has been recently refurbished and it has shop-in-shops with retailers such as Austin Reed and House of Fraser.

Commenting on the win, Live & Breathe managing director Nick Gray said: “Chester Barrie is one of the great names of British tailoring, with past customers including Sir Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant.

“It offers accessible elegance through the main brand, while Chester by Chester Barrie aims to help men choose business tailoring that works for them. Promoting these brands is all about trust, sophistication and class. Plus, it presents a terrific opportunity to improve standards in business wear throughout the UK.”
