The Marketing Industry Network has launched a new website which aims to make it easier for members to interact, share knowledge and colloborate with each other.

The site was designed by Ediburgh-based Urban Niche and uses BuddyPress, a new application of the WordPress system.

As well as giving members access to white papers, research and exclusive articles, the new system has built in social media capability.

Director Gordon Young said: “At its heart the Marketing Industry Network aims to provide a way for members to colloborate by sharing collective knowledge. This is increasingly what the creative industries are all about and these social media platforms provide an ideal opportunity to do this.”

Membership of the Marketing Industry Network is open to all subscribers of The Drum. As well as sharing information through www.MiNetwork.me the organisation also runs a programme of events including social media seminars, evening talks and peer to peer training sessions.

Young said: “Members are now invited to log on to the website and fill complete their online profiles which should ensure that they get on the radar of fellow members, who will be able to contact them through the system.

“This will also provide them with the chance to establish their own special interest groups where they can share information with like-minded people and organisations throughout the UK.”
