Dempster on song as she joins Clearsilver to grow PR division

A former PR director from Ptarmigan Consultants in Leeds has joined city rival Clearsilver to spearhead the agency's growth in PR.

A former BBC journalist, Dempster joins Clearsilver from Opera North where she was interim head of press and public relations. Prior to this she was part of the management team at Ptarmigan Consultants, where she worked for nine years.

During her time with Ptarmigan Dempster headed up consumer, b2b and sponsorship maximisation campaigns for clients including Yorkshire and Clydesdale Banks, npower, Nestlé, Lemsip and York Racecourse. She also led the consultancy’s Integrated Digital Unit.

At Clearsilver Dempster will be working with joint managing director Louise Leach to drive the agency’s integrated PR approach to communications across its growing client portfolio which includes brands such as, Harvey Nichols, NHS, Asda, Yorkshire Cancer Research and St. Stephen’s Shopping Centre in Hull.

Leach said: “Nicola has come on board at a really exciting time for the agency. Her skills set is a perfect match for us now and most importantly for the strategic direction the business is moving in. Her years of integrated communications experience will not only enable us to deliver our existing clients even greater specialist strategic support, but also allow us to further develop relationships within new sectors.”
