The Community Foundation for Greater Manchester (CFGM) has appointed Creative Spark to overhaul its website.

The Manchester-based design and digital agency will create a "much friendlier and inviting design" with simpler navigation to help the foundation become more accessible and help more community groups.

The agency says it has carried out "considerable research" into how other community foundations' websites work. It found that " the majority tended to overcomplicate their websites", leading to information being difficult to find and creating barriers to seeking funding.

Creative Spark's Neil Marra said: "We wanted to have all the information available to community groups within a couple of clicks.

"However, we didn't just want good functionality, we also wanted to inject some of the personality that we found at CFGM into proceedings to allow it to be a welcoming site that allows users to access what the information they require when they need it."

The new site is due to go live in around a month's time.
