Tennent’s has announced that it has chosen to concentrate on its three-year shirt sponsorship with Rangers and Celtic, ending its long standing relationship with the Scottish Football Association.

The 36-year partnership comes to an end having seen the lager brand as main sponsor of the football team, having previously been the main sponsor of the Scottish Cup.

Mike Lees, managing director of Tennent Caledonian Breweries, said: “We are very proud of our longstanding investment in Scottish football over the years. We like to think that Tennent’s status as an iconic brand has been good for the Scottish game too.

“I would like to thank the Scottish FA for being such a collaborative partner and all Scotland fans for sharing our journey. As one of Scotland’s proudest supporters, it goes without saying that we wish the National Side every success in the Euro 2012 campaign and beyond,” added Lees.

The first sponsorship activity between Tennent’s and the Old Firm will be the unveiling of the shirts for both clubs during the summer.
