Cheshire marketing business frank the agency has stopped trading with immediate effect because of "challenging economic conditions".

The Wilmslow agency was approaching its tenth anniversary in business but its directors today said that it could not continue. They are now assisting clients as they work to complete the company's affairs.

Frank the agency was founded in 2000 and was a specialist in the travel, tourism and destination marketing sector. In its early years it handled campaigns for British Airways and First Group but more recently worked with visitor attractions including the London Eye, Madame Tussauds and Sea Life London Aquarium.

Ian Helsby, a director at the agency, said: "This is a very sad time for us all at frank, particularly as we were due to celebrate our 10th Birthday in April this year. With the challenging economic conditions of late faced by the industry as a whole we were unfortunately not able to continue.

"However, we are all immensely proud of what we have achieved over the years, winning many awards for our work and helping our clients achieve some fantastic returns on their investment. We all leave frank with our heads held high and look forward to our next challenge.”

Frank's clients included the COI, Territorial Army, Army Cadet Force, Persimmon Homes, Pochin Homes and CN Group.
