The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) is looking to create an action plan to promote and develop the Northwest Businesses which have experience of handling major sporting events.

The agency is looking to build a strong ‘cluster’ of businesses which will be able to compete for business opportunities created by London 2012 and produce other sporting events for the area.

This commission will build upon previous work which saw the production of a directory of specialist suppliers of major sporting events and will now look to build a network of these suppliers.

The directory is currently in final draft stage, prior to publication which will include the development of marketing collateral and on-line portal providing access to the directory.

A supplier will be appointed by the NWDA to develop an action plan for the promotion, marketing and further development of the business ‘cluster’ which will showcase regional expertise in supplying major sporting events to buyers.

Deadline for responses to supply a quote falls on the evening of 17 February, with meetings scheduled to take place on 22 February.
