Travel add-on company Holiday Extras is to launch a new year booking TV campaign, the first time the brand has advertised on TV in its 26 year history.

The ‘Thank You Holiday Extras’ campaign will be supplemented by national press, viral activity, online display, PPC, SEO, PR and social media handled by its new roster of marketing agencies including TV production company The Red Planet, along with creative agencies WordBright and Crispy Thinking to create the TV advert, print, online and viral campaigns.

Cheeze DMG is handling the online display advertising across several travel networks, while All Response Media is responsible for the national media campaign, while Lucre isworking on the PR.

The campaign will launch on TV on 25 January advertising across a range of satellite and terrestrial channels, including Sky News, Living and the Travel Channel.

“The ‘Thank You Holiday Extras’ campaign is designed to broaden our brand’s reach across online and offline channels and capitalise on our reputation as the market leader for travel add-ons. We can’t just rely on online search ‘intent’ for growth, we have to create wider brand awareness to engage new customers. That means experimenting with new channels, targeting prospects we haven’t perhaps managed to reach before,” explained Ben Alexander, head of marketing at Holiday Extras.
