Elmscott, the Hertford-based marketing communications agency, has appointed Matt Cheevers to the role of non-executive director.

Having previously worked for Eurostar and lastminute.com before joining Teletext Holidays in 2006, Cheevers branched out on his own in 2009 establishing Smooth Direction Ltd, offering strategic business development and network services.

Cheevers’s travel industry background will prove vital in his new role, with Elmscott boasting a portfolio which includes clients such as Giles Travel, Oceanico Group, Carnival UK, The Romanian Tourist Office, Fred Olsen Cruises and The Co-op Travel Group.

Cheevers commented: “Most businesses have undergone huge changes in recent years, and now face significant marketing challenges over the next couple of years. Elmscott is already ahead of the game, specialising in campaigns which help clients put their products in front of their customers not only through traditional media, but through a full range of services including online and social media expertise. Together we want to present companies with a full marketing service that is based on our real experience and our understanding of the market.”

And Elmscott’s founder and managing director David Coates added: “We are delighted to welcome Matt to our team. With his excellent credentials and strategic approach, we are sure he will be an invaluable asset and enhance Elmscott’s reputation even further.”
