The Car People has appointed Code Computerlove to revamp its digital marketing and online presence.

The North of England motor retailer has tasked the Manchester-based agency with building a completely new website to bring the group’s "hassle-free buying" positioning to life in the digital channel, as well as breathing life into its online marketing and social media strategies.

Jonathan Allbones, sales and marketing director at The Car People, said of the appointment: "We're very excited to have Code onboard. They will enable us to push forward our online proposition both creatively and strategically. Online activity is a huge lead generator and today's web user is very demanding. With Code we know we'll be able to take the maximum advantage of the opportunity."

Meanwhile Alex Comyn, account director at Code Computerlove, outlined how the agency’s strong retail credentials were central to its appointment: "The Car People takes a more general retail approach to selling cars, rather than the stereotypical methods of more traditional car dealers, and so our creative ideas and proven track record in delivering results in the retail sector really struck a chord with the team.

"The motor industry as a whole has embraced the digital channel very quickly – with online sites like Autotrader.com outstripping paper based reference tools and motor manufacturers being at the forefront of digital trends. Our strategy will deliver an innovative solution for The Car People that reflects the firm's ethos and consumer needs.”

Code will work alongside The Car People's brand agency, Propaganda, and Mediavest, which handles media buying.
