Design consultancy 999 has produced a new report assessing the strength and potential of visual arts in the West Midlands for Arts Council England (ACE).

The 32-page Cultivate report aims to provide a snap shot of the regional arts market and champions the future of visual arts in the West Midlands.

It comes on the back of Sowing the Seeds, a major review carried out last year by arts research agency Morris Hargreaves McIntyre on behalf of ACE into building a larger, stronger market for contemporary art that contributes more effectively to the region’s wider cultural life and economy.

The report has been created in two parts, featuring a ‘glossy’ section that showcases a variety of work being produced by respected West Midlands’ artists – including Ruth Claxton and Harminder Singh Judge – alongside a clean, understated section to ensure that nothing detracts from the clarity of information provided.
