Digital Week launches today

Today is the first day of Digital Week, the week long festival which will promote Yorkshire's creative digital sector with seminars and workshops planned through out Leeds, Scarborough, Sheffield, Bradford and Huddersfield.

Monday will see two seminars take place from 12pm, the first in Scarbourgh examines how to Grow Your Own Digital Agency. This workshop will offer basic start up advice about funding and tax benefits alongside advice on how to best to grow the business and gain success.

Meanwhile, also kicking off at 12pm in Leeds will be Audio Evolution: Music in the Digital Age - a debate between leading digial specialists about the survival of music as the digital sector grows.

Discussion will include the role of radio in the modern age and the courses which are developing new talent and how digital can help reach new markets.

At 2pm, in Sheffield, 3D Design and the Architecture Workshop will explore the effect of digital on architecture and design companies and how they can best utilise 3D graphics in their presentations.

Also taking place in Sheffield from 4pm will be Software Patents: What You Need to Know where Dr Karl Barnfather, a senior partner at patent attorneys Withers & Rogers, and one of the UK's foremost software patent experts will chair this interactive seminar, which will bring clarity the subject of intellectual property in the digital field.

6pm will be when the week is official launched in Revolution Barr in Leeds with the Knowledge Auction. This will give suppliers the chance to sell their services to potential clients through an hour of uninterrupted self-promotion where agencies will auction their services in return for chocolate money - while clients bid for their services.
