Sarah Tunstall, the PPA’s chief operating officer, has decided to leave the PPA at the end of the year to join Worthing-based digital agency Fresh Egg.

Tunstall will join the web agency Fresh Egg as commercial director in January next year. Fresh Egg was launched in 2000 and earlier this year caught the attention of BBC Dragon James Caan, who became chairman of the company in March.

Tunstall said: “I am delighted to be joining Fresh Egg at such an exciting stage in its development and look forward to retaining a close link with PPA in my new role. PPA is one of the UK’s largest and most effective trade associations, and is one of the leading magazine trade bodies worldwide. The organisation is currently undertaking a full review of its activities so that it continues to provide relevant support to its members, reflecting the challenges that the publishing industry faces in 2010 and beyond. I am leaving behind an exceptionally strong team who are perfectly placed to deliver on these goals.”

Eric Verdon-Roe, consultant to PPA, said: “I saw Sarah in action in my previous role as Chairman of the PPA Audit Committee. We have also been working together recently, sharing the day-to-day running of the company until a new Chief Executive is appointed. Sarah has worked tirelessly on a broad range of PPA activities. Her greatest achievement was recruiting the team to run the FIPP World Magazine Congress earlier this year and leading them to produce a world-class international event, despite the tough economic background. Her dedication to all things PPA has been legendary and we will miss her drive and energy. We all wish her the very best in her new role.”
