Having now completed this year’s summer festival, Festivals Edinburgh has created two new roles which will see the number of its team grow to six full time roles and one part time.

Festivals Edinburgh handles 12 major festivals in the city’s calendar with the strategic marketing arm led by Martin Reynolds who joined nearly a year ago.

The roles of head of development and CRM & digital marketing manager have been created and will play a significant part in developing the audience and commercial potential of umbrella brand, Edinburgh Festivals.

The role of head of development will see the successful candidate tasked with the creation of innovative, corporate partnerships while also developing new approaches to income generation The role will include working on transformative projects – such as programming strands associated with London 2012, content-driven broadcast partnerships and technology initiatives to drive the future success of the world’s festival capital.

The appointed CRM & digital marketing manager will develop the Festivals’ global online presence; maximise creative, listings and TV content in a multi-platform environment; and manage a comprehensive CRM strategy to drive acquisition and increase revenue, conversion and loyalty.

It is thought that the successful applicants will be in place by the New Year.

Last year, Festivals Edinburgh launched a TV campaign, created by Family and brokered by Spirit Media, online display and paid search activity handled by Perfect Storm and supported through PR by Burt Greener.

The PR campaign focussed on media relations and promotions with key UK travel and consumer titles, supported by a media visit programme during the summer months.

A well as the launch of its website by Numiko and branding by Leithal Thinking, Edinburgh Festivals also created its online TV channel edinburghfestivals.tv.
