Man City appoints PHD North to media account
Manchester City Football Club has appointed PHD North to handle its media planning and buying account.
The Manchester agency, which is part of the Omnicom Media Group, says it will work on a series of marketing projects to help the ambitious club drive brand engagement with fans, as well as corporate hospitality.
Jason Spencer, managing director of PHD North, said its communications will look to "fill the City of Manchester Stadium week in week out and get fans past and present engaged in what the club is doing".
PHD North's appointment follows Chris Kay's recent arrival from Fallon as head of marketing at Man City.
Kay said: "PHD North is the natural fit for the Manchester City brand. They have the exact mix of a deep local knowledge aligned with a strategic rigour and an honest creative ambition that makes them ideal partners for pushing our communications further."
The big spending Premier League side has already hit the headlines this season for its off the field campaigns, most notably with its infamous 'Welcome to Manchester' billboard featuring Carlos Tevez.
