Brand communications agency SASS has been appointed as PR agency for Pharmacist Support an independent charity working for pharmacists and their families throughout Great Britain.

SASS will be responsible initially for raising awareness of the Charity and its services among professionals within the pharmaceutical industry, as well as building relationships with organisations that have a vested interest in the Charity.

There is a further remit to include fundraising initiatives, university student engagement and event support in the longer term.

Pharmacist Support, formerly the Benevolent Fund of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, the official regulatory body of the pharmaceutical industruy, was rebranded in 2008 to more closely reflect the needs of modern day pharmacists.

SASS has been tasked with bolstering the re-launch to affect greater understanding of the change among key target audiences.

Meanwhile, SASS has bolstered its team with the appointment of Craig Cleaver as digital account director.

Cleaver has nine years experience of client side marketing, plus three years at leading agencies including Latitude and BLM Quantum where he was an SEO specialist.

He has worked with brands such as MBNA, JD Sports and Tesco.
