McCann Erickson Manchester has appointed Andy Moffitt, previously a partner at Cello, to strengthen the agency's direct marketing and CRM offer in the role of managing partner.

Moffitt, 43, started his career with ICI and has more than 20 years' agency experience having held senior roles at agencies including Wunderman and Ogilvy.

At Cello - the owner of agency brands Farm, Leith and The Value Agency - he was managing director with responsibility for Target Direct, the group's direct marketing operation, and oversaw accounts including the Salvation Army, the Royal British Legion and Focus DIY.

Prior to Cello, he spent five years at Wunderman where he was responsible for CRM, direct marketing and digital work for Ford across Europe. Before that he was on the UK board of Ogilvy.

Moffitt said: “I am delighted to be joining the agency and firmly believe that in the current climate there has never been a better time for clients to invest in integrated digital strategies that deliver real and tangible return on investment."

McCann Manchester's chief executive, Sue Little, added: “Andy joins us with an impeccable track record of running multi-national clients for global agencies.

"Importantly he brings with him a wealth of experience in CRM, digital and direct marketing and this will help further strengthen our integrated digital communications proposition.”

The agency recently opened new office McCann Metro, in Manchester city centre, to complement its base in Prestbury, Cheshire.
