The Mission Marketing Group has announced its audited financial statements for last year which has shown a 31% turnover from £79.5million in 2007 up to £104.2million in 2008.

The group which is made up of agencies including Bray Leino, Story, Big Communications, Fuse Digital, ThinkBWD, Rhythm Communications and RLA Group, saw an operating income of £42.7million last year, up from £33.0million recorded the previous year.

This meant that the group recorded a 22% increase in its operating profit of £9million, while is also saw an increase of 34% in digital income.

Iain Ferguson, chief executive officer for The Mission Group, commented: “In a challenging trading environment the Group has delivered a good set of results. Income growth of 29% demonstrates the benefits of the full year effect of the acquisitions made in 2007 as well as the underlying performance of the businesses. Our strategy to build a dynamic, profitable national communications group has served the Mission well, and this is reflected in our continued new business success with recent wins including the Royal Mind, Countrywide Lettings and Office of National Statistics.”

Ferguson continued: “To ensure that the Group is positioned for the future, we have realigned our focus from the rapid growth through acquisitions in previous years to a more prudent approach based on the cost containment and internal development. Trading is currently in-line with the board’s expectations and the Group remains well positioned in the markets in which we operate.”
