Birmingham-based digital agency Made Media has won a four-way pitch to develop and extend the Visit Birmingham website on behalf of Marketing Birmingham.
www.visitbirmingham.com is the official tourism website for Birmingham, providing information on things to see and do, places to eat and drink, and where to stay in the city. Made will be creating new features to enhance the on-line visitor experience including a comprehensive events calendar, a directory of restaurants, accommodation and venues and an interactive visitors map.
Lisa Smith, online campaign manager at Marketing Birmingham said: "We were impressed with Made's innovative approach to digital events marketing, as evidenced on The REP, Town Hall and Hello Digital websites. We were also reassured by their 'can-do' approach to technical integration and geocoding. We're looking forward to rolling out the new features in the lead-up to summer. They will reinforce Visit Birmingham's position at the forefront of technology."

The website will use listings data supplied by Global Data Point as well as other sources, and the Google Maps API. Made Media will provide systems integration services to unify the information across all platforms, including Microsoft's Dynamics CRM and Made Media's CMS Backstage.
Made Media is based in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Founded in 2003, its recent clients include Birmingham Repertory Theatre, SnowDome, THSH and Maverick TV.
