Regional publisher Archant Norfolk which publishes the Evening News and the Eastern Daily Press is to make nearly a third of its editorial department redundant.

The cutbacks are likely to see a new editorial system introduced which will allow journalists to create copy for both online and the print versions of the company’s publications.

The redundancy consultation period is currently underway with 54 journalists from the 179 members of staff involved in the process.
