McCann Erickson Manchester has appointed Komodo Media co-founder Roy Husdell as its digital creative director.

Husdell will link the creative teams at the agency's Bonis Hall base and the developers and coders at its recently announced city centre office, McCann Metro.

McCann's current digital creative director, Wes Hogg, 38, is moving across Manchester to become the new executive creative director at Code Computerlove. McCann insist Hogg's move is “unrelated” to Husdell's appointment.

The Drum understands that some members of Husdell's team at Stretford-based Komodo will move across Manchester to join him at McCann.

McCann chief executive, Sue Little, said: "Roy’s experience from both a creative and technical perspective will be vital in linking Bonis Hall and Metro.

“This appointment really highlights our commitment to developing a new and innovative offering out of our city centre offices."

Prior to setting up Komodo, Husdell was creative partner with digital agency Luxson. He was also involved in developing CheethamBell JWT's digital offering.
