TDMG appoints group digital director

Alex Michael has been appointed group digital director for Shipley-based The Direct Marketing Group.

His remit is to bring his digital media experience to all the companies within the group, which includes mature market specialist, Millennium, as well as JDA, Whitewater, DMS, DM Print and Blah Blah PR.

Prior to his appointment, Michael was director of Sprite Interactive, a company specialising in mobile marketing and content for a range of web and mobile-based solutions. Clients included all the mobile operators worldwide.

Other positions held during his career include executive producer for Walt Disney Internet Group, Interactive business and creative director for Lopex PLC and creative director and general manager for Innovations Design PLC where he had overall responsibility for 27 catalogue brands and 25 retail outlets.

In addition to his CV, Alex has also written extensively on the subject of digital marketing, with Mobile Marketing and Search Optimization books in the top ten for their category.
