Workplace interiors organisation, the Eastlake Work Group, has appointed Leeds-based Turn Key to carry out an extensive rebranding exercise following the merger that created the company in autumn 2008.

Eastlake Work Group was created by the merger of the Eastlake Group and Work Inc. in an £8m deal funded by the Royal Bank of Scotland in September of this year, making it the one of the largest players in the UK work services sector, with a projected turnover of £75m and over 500 staff.

Eastlake Work Group began its search for an organisation to take forward a rebranding strategy in September. The tender process culminated in a five-way pitch at the company’s East Kilbride headquarters, which was won by Turn Key.

The Turn Key team, led by managing director Nik Entwistle, will be undertaking a detailed research and brand audit, branding design and the development of brand collateral culminating in a launch of the new brand to Eastlake Work Group’s customers and other key targets, expected early in 2009.

David Eastlake, chief executive of Eastlake Work Group, said: “We’re delighted with the appointment of Turn Key to develop and progress our rebranding strategy. We selected the team at Turn Key because they exceeded the expectations of our brief with outstanding demonstration of creative flair and an intelligent interpretation of our company’s branding requirements. We were also impressed by the team’s spirit, experience and capability, and infectious enthusiasm.

“We very much look forward to working closely with the team to develop a strong brand for Eastlake Work Group, and to launching the brand to the marketplace in early 2009.”

Managing director of Turn Key, Nik Entwistle said: ”We’re very proud to have been given the challenge of helping drive these two successful businesses, through our branding process, to become stronger, fitter and more influential as they come together to tackle this time of great opportunity”.

Meanwhile, Billy Shek, design director at Eastlake design partnership (edp) – part of the Eastlake Work Group – has been appointed to the committee of the Design Business Association in Scotland.

The Design Business Association is the trade association for the UK design industry. Its aim is to help design consultancies become more professional and profitable by offering a range of industry specific membership services, training courses and events.
