Brazen has been appointed by ACDOCO – parent firm of Dr. Beckmann Stain Devils – to manage both the UK Consumer and Trade PR accounts for the North-west based business.

The account, which starts on January 1 2009, will focus on the two core sides of the ACDOCO business – Laundry and Personal Care – with Brazen dedicating two PR teams to work across each sector.

Brazen clinched the significant account following a four-way pitch including incumbent agencies Storm and Haslimann Taylor, who held the laundry and personal care accounts respectively.

In the laundry sector, Brazen will promote the Dr. Beckmann umbrella brand and create bespoke campaigns around key products including Stain Devils, Glowhite and Colour Run Remover.

The personal care brief covers a range of premium beauty products including BlanX, the market leading non-abrasive whitening toothpaste; BioRepair, the enamel repair specialist toothpaste; and Bionsen, the premium deodorant range containing Japanese Spa Minerals. The PR strategy will focus on a repositioning of the beauty brand portfolio, to leverage the products as essential additions to a health and beauty regime.

Acdoco’s category marketing managers Steven Simpson and Lisa Cattell said: “In this climate brands need PR that will help improve their bottom line, and Brazen’s planning, thought process and creative approach made us feel completely confident and excited about their ability to deliver.”

ACDOCO is based in Bolton and celebrates its 90th birthday in 2009.
