Weber Shandwick Scotland appoints First Minister's special advisor

Weber Shandwick Scotland has announced that it is to appoint the special advisor to First Minister Alex Salmond to a senior position within its Public Affairs arm.

Jennifer Dempsie, who has served as special adviser to the First Minister in May 2007 is to join the Public Affairs team in February as associate director.

Meanwhile, the firm’s successful Public Affairs practice has also promoted Amy Rafferty as associate director where both Rafferty and Dempsie will work with head of Weber Shandwick Public Affairs, deputy managing director, Moray Macdonald, to expand the consultancy’s political relations offering. Rafferty will take on additional responsibility to head up Weber Shandwick’s healthcare and charity practice in Scotland.

Rafferty joined Weber Shandwick in Scotland in 2004 as account manager in the Public Affairs department.
